Over the years I have done much research into the location of the Nephites, though through revelation I was shown that their final battles were located in upstate New York, I came across various other possible locations, but I have finally come to the conclusion that the Nephite nation was primarily located in the upstate New York region, but not limited to that area.  Knowing that the ancients buried their records in their own territory, it would be strange for Moroni to walk from central America all the way to New York state if his tribe was not local to that region.  Just as well Moroni told Joseph Smith that the record was of the former inhabitants of this land, where Joseph now lived, not some place thousands of miles away.

Many have stated there is no evidence that the Nephites lived in New York, that no weapons have ever been found, that no bodies have been found near Cumorah, that no cities have been found, that many of the crops and animals described in the Book of Mormon have not been found, and that the Book of Mormon can not be used as a history, but I now say unto all of them that all this evidence has been right in front of you all along. How have you been so blind, ye men of wisdom and learning of the world?  I will even go as far to claim that the evidence found in New York has been greatly over-looked or even suppressed by the majority of LDS researchers who espouse the central America location as being the home of the Nephites.

So many have tried to tie in the Mayan civilization with the Nephites, but those buildings and temples were from earlier tribes that were led to that continent.  There were other tribes here before the Nephites arrived, this is even recorded in the Book of Mormon by Nephi when they first arrived in North America.  These brethren Nephi speaks of who were already living in the land when Nephi's family arrived were dark-skinned, and it was these people whom the brothers of Nephi, Laman and Lemuel interbred with, which was forbidden, and therefore the skin of their children became dark as well, and so it came to pass that whosoever came up in opposition against the family of Nephi were called the Lamanites, and whosoever was friendly with the family of Nephi was called the Nephites.  Thus, this is how the nation of the Lamanites multiplied upon the face of the land so quickly in a period of only 50 years, and there already began to be wars and contentions with the children of Nephi, for the Lamanites were more numerous than the Nephites.
And now, my beloved brethren, seeing that our merciful God hath given us so great knowledge concerning these things, let us remember him, and lay aside our sins, and not hang down our heads, for we are not cast off; nevertheless, we have been driven out of the land of our inheritance; but we have been led to a better land: for the Lord hath made the sea our path, and we are upon an isle of the sea. But great is the promises of the Lord unto they which are upon the isles of the sea; wherefore, as it sayeth isles, there must needs be more than this; and they are inhabited also by our brethren. For behold, the Lord God hath led away from time to time from the House of Israel, according to his will and pleasure. (2 Nephi 10:20-22)
As well Nephi continually is told this is the land of promise prepared by the hand of the Lord and choice above other lands, and as the early Saints and the church heavily teaches that we live in that land of promise, and Missouri is the center of it where Adam dwelt and where the Garden of Eden once resided, for if the Nephites lived in central and south America then that would have to be the land of promise and this nation would have been founded in that area, but that is not so.

But said he, not withstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath covenanted with me should be a land for the inheritance of my seed; Yea, the Lord have covenanted this land unto me, and to my children forever, and also those who should be led out of other countries by the hand of the Lord. (2 Nephi 1:3-5)

And behold, it is wisdom that this land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations; for behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance. (2 Nephi 2:8)

Where are the Nephite Temples and buildings?

The great stone temple America and Mexico have been attributed to the Nephites, but this was not their style, nor would the time frame be their temples in a land of blood and human sacrifice.  The Nephites for the most part of their landing here first lived in tents.  They then go on to describe their temples were built out of wood.  All of the remains of this type of building would rot away rather fast, and easily be burned to stubble.  As for their houses they were built of cement, the citie America were not really cement, in fact most of them contain no cement at all but are neatly fitted huge pieces of stone, a technology greater than which is spoken of by the Nephites.  So we have that their homes were of cement but for the most part their temples, synagogues and cities were primarily timber and would pass away over the years since.

And there being but little timber upon the face of the land, nevertheless the people who went forth became exceedingly expert in the working of cement; therefore they did build houses of cement, in the which they did dwell. (Helaman 3:7)

And the people who were in the land northward did dwell in tents, and in houses of cement, and they did suffer whatsoever tree should spring up upon the face of the land that it should grow up, that in time they might have timber to build their houses, yea, their cities, and their temples, and their synagogues, and their sanctuaries, and all manner of their buildings. (Helaman 3:9)

And he also caused that his workmen should work all manner of fine work within the walls of the temple, of fine wood, and of copper, and of brass. (Mosiah 11:10)

The Nephites also used large walls made out of timber to protect their fortresses, as well as dig huge pits round about their fortresses in the time of war, surely there would be remnants of large pits.  And these types of ancient fortresses have been found all over western New York.  Ancient walls of stone since fallen down, or moved by farmers have been found all over, even I have seen some of these stone walls.  And the mounds of earth thrown up cover the face of the land in western New York.  Evidence of large fortifications abound in western New York, remnants of walls surround many of the higher mounds and pits round about.  Many of these mounds have been dug up by farmers and the plow and it is found that they were made during a time of a great war, it is strange that Mormons and anti-Mormons alike say there have not been found any artifacts or bodies in New York, but literally thousands and thousands of bodies have been found heaped up in mounds, only three miles from Hill Cumorah in New York, an as soon as they are exposed to air they crumble.  Much of this evidence is now coming forth and is supplied in a new book called  "The Lost Lands of the Book of Mormon by Phyllis Carol Olive."
Yea, he had been strengthening the armies of the Nephites, and erecting small forts, or places of resort; throwing up banks of earth round about to enclose his armies, and also building walls of stone to encircle them about, round about their cities and the borders of their lands; yea, all round about the land. (Alma 48:8)

And upon the top of these ridges of earth he caused that there should be timbers, yea, works of timbers built up to the height of a man, round about the cities. And he caused that upon those works of timbers there should be a frame of pickets built upon the timbers round about; and they were strong and high. (Alma 50:2-3)

Where are all the weapons of war of the Nephites?

Many researchers claim there have been no swords, or iron found anywhere that would support the Book of Mormon.  True, there have not been found any sword America because they are looking in the wrong place!  Only a few miles north of Hill Cumorah in New York have been excavated from a large hill, many ancient swords and knives and all manners of weapons of a great war, every weapon mentioned in the Book of Mormon has been found in New York.  Which all of this is lacking in Central America.

Where are all the dead bodies of the Nephites?

Many in the LDS church have said to me, even very learned men and leaders of the church have taught that no bodies have ever been recovered that could possibly be Nephite in the state of New York and that the last battle of the Nephites could not have taken place there.  But only 3 miles from hill Cumorah in New York was a sandy mound uncovered to contain thousands of bodies of men, women and children, all heaped up in a disorderly fashion as if placed quickly by an enemy.  Many of the bodies had their skulls crushed, broken limbs, and many were burned.  When the early farmlands in western New York were plowed - skeletons were found to litter the mounds everywhere.  Skeletons of great stature, over 1/3 the normal height of a man, some 7 to 8 feet tall have been found in these mounds stretching from western New York to Ohio.  Jawbones twice the size of a normal man are still on display in some museums and held by antiquitors in New York.

And now I, Nephi, being a man large in stature, and also having received much strength of the Lord, therefore I did seize upon the servant of Laban, and held him, that he should not flee.

And it came to pass that one of the secret combinations murdered him in a secret pass, and obtained unto himself the kingdom; and his name was Lib; and Lib was a man of great stature, more than any other man among all the people.

And they came down again that they might pitch battle against the Nephites. And they were led by a man whose name was Coriantumr; and he was a descendant of Zarahemla; and he was a dissenter from among the Nephites; and he was a large and a mighty man.

A Nephite Skull?

"The Adena People (so named from it's site in Ohio), themselves are a nagging mystery. They were tall, powerfully built people with massive skeletons, prominent foreheads bordered by sizable brow ridges and large round skulls. The appearance of these round heads is  extraordinary, for the typical Archaic Indians were long headed, with high vaulted, narrow skulls and slender bodies...... many women over six feet tall and men approaching heights of seven feet." Readers Digest, 1978, page 35

In the Explorations of the Aboriginal Remains in Tennessee, Joseph Jones unearthed many a grave and mound. In some places the dead were entombed in granite slab graves, with granite coverings and the ground was then leveled, in other places there were mounds, and in some cases he found skeletons in caves.

Where are the animals mentioned in the Book of Mormon?

Every animal mentioned in the Book of Mormon which was had by both the Jaredites and the Nephites have been found throughout New York, and Pennsylvania and the Great Lakes region.  Everything from mammoth, to elephants, horses, cows, bison, ox, goats, turkeys, swine and so forth.  Although cureloms and cumons are not translated most likely a curelom was the mammoth and cumon were the buffalo, at least that is what I have been revealed.  For the word "cum" is a derivative of Hebrew word Kamab, which means "to gather together," and this is how the buffalo travel gathered together in great herds. Even herds of cattle were found wandering the land in the 1600s.

Where are the domesticated crops, like corn, wheat and barley?

All the crops mentioned as staple foods of the Nephites have also been found in western New York around the mounds and tombs of . rn in abundance was found, as well in the modern day wheat and barley grow extremely in abundance in that area.  Even though most researchers biologists say wheat has not been found in the new world, and was brought over by Europeans, they obviously have ignored or overlooked that the one of the first settlers of New York discovered wild wheat growing in Western New York state, near the city of Rome, before the land was cultivated by the farmers.

In the letters of Hibernicus, which are usually ascribed to De Witt Clinton, he thus speaks of this plant.

"The novelty of the idea pleased me so much, that I pursued the discovery through all its labyrinths and ramifications. Some years ago it was discovered in wet soil, and in a beaver meadow near Western, and also in a swamp covered with woods near Rome. Its stalk is more compact, and its leaves larger, than that of the common wheat. Its height is also greater, and except having short beards at the apex, it is in other respects bald. It is said to resist the power of frost, and to be proof against winter killing."

"Why should not wheat grow spontaneously in New-York as well as in Sicily, Egypt, Mesopotamia, or Siberia? And the evidence of the fact is as complete in this particular as the nature of the case will admit. The plant was found in a wild state in places remote from thick settlement, which had never been cultivated, and it possesses peculiar characteristics and distinctive qualities. Besides, rye is found in a wild state, and it was frequently seen growing spontaneously before the settlement of the country. Lieutenant Governor Mercer, of Virginia, thus writes of this plant a long time before the revolutionary war: - 'The wild rye which grows every where in the Ohio country, is a species of the rye which is cultivated by the Europeans. It has the same bearded ear, and produces a farinaceous grain. The ear and grain in the wild state of this plant are less, and the beard of the ear is longer, than those of the cultivated rye, which makes this wild plant resemble more the rye grass in its appearance; but it differs in no other respect from the rye, and it shoots its spontaneous vegetation about the middle of November, as the cultivated rye doth.'"

"As the indigenous existence of rye in this country is established beyond question, there can be no good reason to doubt the growth of wheat. This curious fact in natural history ought to be fully investigated and illustrated."

Where is the iron, gold, silver, pearls, brass all mentioned?

All these precious metals and items have been found scattered in mounds all over western New York and part of Ohio.  Bodies completely adorned in pearls and jewelry, plates of flattened gold even with Egyptian hieroglyphs have been found in Ohio, silver and brass, and zinc ore and iron ore has been found in abundance.  No longer can anti-Mormons use this argument against the Book of Mormon for everything in the Book of Mormon shall be proven in due time!

Conclusion

I can supply ample resources proving everything I have written above is true and accurate and does exist.  Much of this research has already been compiled in new books and videos which for me to post here would be redundant, but I am currently seeking permission from the authors of these books of post excerpts of their research on this site.  Until then I strongly recommend you purchase a copy of the book "The Lost Lands of the Book of Mormon."  The book is the best research I have found thus far on showing the Nephites lived in western New York.  It is approximately 330 pages, with a beautiful painting of the waters of Mormon by the author on the front.  It comes included with a large poster size map of the location of the Nephite cities in upstate New York.  The price of the book is $16.95 but well worth the price with the volume of information contained in it, I have read the entire book in one sitting and am still studying it.  This book is so new it can not be found in major book stores.   Here is how you can order a copy of the book.
