as I do in the land just southward of that narrow strip of land I had the
opportunity one day a few years ago of visiting an Indian mound, a round
circle of earth enclosing about ten acres of ground. The plaques around
the area described it as a religious ceremonial center, but when I topped
the hill, a vision opened to my mind, and it seemed as if I were an Indian
warrior intent on war, and images straight out BoM flashed through my mind
of casting up walls of earth as protection. And it is very possible to
walk from the sea eastward to the sea westward in a day, not like in south
America where it would take a week. And of course the Niagara river flows
northward into the "sea". So at least for me, I place BoM geography, if
it actually happened at all, in and around the great lakes. -- Peace Monastery

Shiver, shiver, by the river...
Last summer,
(of 99) I was up at Cumorah with my son Chris. We had done some studying
prior to going and then drove on up through Toronto and north. The spirit
testified as we saw the embankments as we drove as to the reality of the
land of the Book of Mormon. If we ever expect to get the rest of the plates
and the information there in, we probably need to know where the first
part took place. Nice knowing that someone here cares or is being impressed
to find out where the lands of the the Nephites and Jaredites etc were
located as well as the archeological finds in the area. Do you have the
maps showing the lands north etc?
I have been having a discussion with a fellow brother concerning some tapes that a friend sent me concerning the Book of Mormon. I have decided to bring the discussion to the list. I am probably way behind everyone else with this information so if I appear to be the fool please forgive me. These videos are concerning where Lehi and his family landed on this side of the world. The tapes give a very good argument that they landed here in North America. That the narrow strip of land that is talked about in the BoM is the land between lake Ontario and lake Erie. That the river Sidon is the Niagara river. This is making a lot of sense for me at this time. I have always questioned how could the Nephites existed in CA and SA where the Mayan culture is so prolific and happened about the same time. They just didn't mesh. This conflict came to the forefront when it was announced that they just found another huge complex down there. In my mind there just couldn't have been two different cultures in the same area. From what I have learned about the Mayan culture it is very different from the Nephite culture. The other thing that is so apparent is that this land is the land of blessing above all other lands. This land is the place talked about in the BoM. (can't quote it exactly). Anyway what do you think? Am I just catching up? |
